Sign 1.9 "Tunnel" is installed when approaching a building that does not have artificial lighting, the visibility of the entrance portal of which is limited or the carriageway is narrowed at the entrance to it.
The sign is installed outside the settlements at a distance of 150-300 m, in the settlements - at a distance of 50-100 m before the beginning of the dangerous area. If necessary, the sign is installed at another distance, which is indicated in Table 7.1.1. If at the entrance to the tunnel its opposite end is not visible, plate 7.2.1 shall be used with the sign.
